V-Force Seated Traction has a very interesting background. It is the innovation of one man to use for his own personal benefit. Mr Meacham was a representative for an Orthopedic manufacturing Company that required extensive driving. For about 20 years, he experienced excruciating low back pain. These episodes would persist up to six weeks of pain and total disability each occurrence.
He had to use every type of back brace, back support and pain medication (prescribed and over the counter) to relieve the pain, along with other traction methods in the hospital and at home. He not only had to suffer the pain, but the treatments were expensive along with the loss of income because of the inability to work.
Mr. Meacham states the best remedy he received was from an extensive back swing called inversion therapy. Inversion therapy is where you actually hang upside down, letting your body weight apply traction to the lower back. This treatment was effective, but extremely awkward and very restrictive due to being held upside down.
Out of dire stress, Mr. Meacham applied his vast experience in the medical field along with the knowledge of what treatment was actually effective over the years forged an inexpensive, easy to use and results driven tool that allowed him to retain his freedom.
In 1986, Mr. Meacham designed and developed the V-Force Seated Traction Concept. The device was tested extensively for five to six months prior to showing it to anyone. The results were amazing! After years of at least one day or more a week of being down and disabled, there were no more painful and disabling episodes. His confidence in the supports grew, ten the device was shown to Orthopedic Surgeons. All agreed that Bio-mechanically it made sense and there was no reason why traction could not be administered in this manner.
Mr. Meacham had a remarkable change of lifestyle and now plays racquetball and golfs 5 to 6 times a week. He now has a very “active” lifestyle and a normal family life. He enjoys life to the fullest and so does his family now. Mr Meacham received so many requests for V-Force Traction that he decided to make it available to the public.
